VIDEO: D-Day documentary honors WWII vets Friday before Plymouth’s parade

To mark the 75th anniversary of that historic event, America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration will show the movie “D-Day: Normandy 1944” at Memorial Hall the evening before the parade.

It was cold and dark when the landing craft were launched on June 6, 1944. The seas were rough and men became ill as the flat-bottomed boats were tossed about in the waves. When they finally reached the Normandy beaches, the front ramps fell open and American soldiers surged forward. That’s when all hell broke loose.
