Scenes from a wet and chilly America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration.
You know the old saying: Don’t rain on my parade. Well, it did rain on our parade Saturday, keeping the crowds down (and driving up the numbers of viewers watching it live on WCVB or through a streaming service).
Nonetheless, the America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration parade – part of a weekend-long set of events – won rave reviews from most spectators. Apart from a small contingent of social media grousers (“there should been a rain date!”), everyone gave thanks to the organizers and participants who braved temperatures in the 40s and tolerated all those raindrops. (This being New England, Sunday morning arrived with clear skies, 24 hours too late. Oh, well.)
